Meant to run and built for speed,

Long legs barely touch the dry ground.

Eyes sharp and piercing,

Ear perked, body tense and alert,

Sniffing for predator or prey.
Bushy tail balances,
Lean frame on quiet paws.
Sandy fur camouflages against the landscape,
Wild and instinctive beauty.

Afrikaans
Bedoel om te hardloop en gebou vir spoed,
Lang bene skaars die droë grond raak.
Oë skerp en piercing,
Oor opgekikker, liggaam gespanne en waarskuwing,
Snuif vir roofdier of prooi.
Bushy stert's,
Lean raam op stil pote.
Sandy bont mask teen die landskap,
Wild en instinktiewe skoonheid.
